Kellystown is a consented c.30MW wind farm north of Drogheda, in County Louth.

Kellystown Wind Farm is a consented c.30MW project in an area approximately 8km north of Drogheda town. The site is located within an area of elevated ground of an east-to-west orientated ridge known as ‘Carnanbreaga’, and the project could consist of up to five turbines and power c.22,000 homes.

A Community Benefit Fund commensurate with the size of the final project will be established to provide funding for local community initiatives and activities.

The project was granted planning permission by Louth County Council in December 2025. To view the details of the planning consent, please visit the following webpage and use the reference number 2460766: https://eplanning.ie/eplan/searchtypes?localAuthorityId=19

This decision has been appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála, and we are awaiting the outcome of this appeal.

Following the grant of planning permission, the wind farm is expected to be constructed and operational in 2029.
